However, when you reach the coping, be sure to have you back foot on the tip of the tail of your board. It is helpful to learn Fakie to Rocks before doing this last step,įeeble Grind: approach the ramp the same way as a 50-50 grind. Apply pressure to your nose and lean into the ramp as your back trucks slide over the coping back into the ramp. As you land, quickly slide your front foot on the nose of your board. Visualize your landing: the center of your board straddling the coping with your back trucks on the platform and front trucks inside the ramp. Immediately before hitting the coping, bend your knees and quickly pivot your board and body 180 degrees. Finally, lean your entire body back into the ramp and you board will follow.ĭisaster (Frontside): carry a lot of speed as your approach the coping (enough to launch both trucks outside of the coping). When you begin to lose speed, put pressure on your tail to lift your front trucks back into the ramp. Next, try to keep your balance (the closer your body is the the platform the better) while your skateboard grinds along the top of the mini-ramp. Relax your back leg while your trucks catch on the coping. Then right before you reach the coping, lean into the ramp while you gradually turn 90 degrees. As your move back into the ramp, slightly apply pressure to the back tail of your board to lift the front trucks over the coping and back into the ramp. When you hit the coping, let your front trucks slide over the coping and sit on the platform of the mini-ramp. As you glide up the incline, be sure to have your back foot resting on the tail of your skateboard. Rock to Fakie: approach the coping (in-laid rail of the ramp) with enough speed to send your front trucks (axles) past the surface of the ramp.
